On Christmas many people celebrate The Birth of Jesus Christ.
And throughout the years, it has also become a commercial festival.
(Christmas=The Birth of Jesus Christ=The Light that shines to enlighten those in darkness).
When Jesus* Christ* was born He brought Light into The World which is Eternal life from God, through His own sacrifice on The Cross.
So, as Christians (followers of Christ), if you wish or want to celebrate Christmas, this is how you are supposed to celebrate this event:
Each time you preach Jesus to the lost & sinners in this world and they accept Jesus Christ as their Personal Saviour, you are both celebrating the Birth and Resurrection of Jesus (Victory over sin & Satan which is the father of lies, sins & evil!)
(*Christ which come from the word Messiah=Christos=means: The One sent by God & who carries the Anointing*, who is now The Permanent Mediator and Sacrifice which replaces the former sacrifice/holocaust (in the Old Testament), that were needed to communicate to God )
(*Jesus is His honorary name & means=The One Who Saves)
(*Anointing is defined as The Holy Presence of God and His Power)

(Below is an article that I have found on the web)
<<It is not known by the average Christians that many practices of The Romans (Catholic) Christianity are originated from paganism.
Take Christmas, for example. In the Christian teaching, Christmas Day is celebrated on Dec. 25, marked as the birth of Jesus Christ who is considered to be The Son of God.
But no one really knew his exact date of birth, which is rather strange for such an important world personage and savior. It was celebrated in different months in the early history of the Catholic Church. So how was Dec. 25 chosen to be his birth date?
It was, in fact, completely arbitrary.
In 350 AD, Dec. 25 was declared by Pope Julius I, as the official date of Christb s birth to replace a very popular pagan festival called Saturnalia, which was celebrated in honor of the pagan god Saturn.
It was a week long merriment. The Saturnalia festival began Dec. 17 and ended Dec. 25. There were reports that the merriment included the execution of state enemies to appease the gods.
In 529 AD, Emperor Justinian declared Christmas a civic holiday.
Because nobody could tell exactly when Jesus was born, it was easy for the early Church Fathers to choose the date. And they chose the end of the pagan Saturnalia festival, Dec. 25.
That was how Dec. 25 became a festival celebrated.>>
